evo Magazine App Reviews

Im not sure the changes to the way in which the magazine is updated works as well as when it was issued in full on a monthly basis. It now comes out in sections, every few days, but I dont seem to get all of the items that used to appear on the monthly cycle. In addition, I reckon the paper magazine is actually better overall. Not sure I will renew the iPad version when it comes up.

This app was a big disappointment! First and foremost in this app loading stories is painfully slow...if they load at all...I will not renew my digital subscription when it comes up.... EVO listen up, your first kick at the digital mag over a year ago was spot on IMO . Magazine feel with a little extra ie. video and such.

I will not be renewing my annual subscription. The new app is terrible. And my past paid issues, which are now only PDFs, wont all download, and are painfully slow to access. What were you thinking?!

Love the magazine, used to love it on iPad because it was like the magazine, but with a couple of videos easily accessed from in the articles. Layout made sense. Since the update it is pretty much unreadable. Ive cancelled my subscription. Hope the old format returns some day. Id have paid more if I had to in order to keep the old format.

Compared to the old format where it was like getting the actual magazine and flipping through it this is now a disjointed Flipboard like exercise without the same feel of quality and connected content. I wont be re-knewing

So irksome. Almost overshadows the content.

I often have to delete this app and reinstall it when content wont load, the last time I did this it stopped recognising my active subscription, so I can no longer access anything. I have been back and forth with Customer service over 2 weeks (and counting) with no resolution. After 12 years subscribing I think this app will force me to cancel. I just hope I can get my content for the remaining 10 months I have already paid for.

Got to be kidding me. How can you put banner ads on this app. It totally destroyed it.

Rarely works and takes away the pleasure of reading this magazine offline. Evo was the pinnacle of online mags before. The content is still the best, but the app is deeply flawed.

Why pay for 5 skimpy articles a week when their site has more and better content for Free .You get two or three very short columns or updates,one real article and one bit of filler. Seriously, I am happy to pay for content. Sadly this app does not get it and so goodby

The app works as advertised. There should be a search function that let you search on make and model on all past issues. The previous version allowed for that. Would be a 4 or 5 star app if not for that.

Great app overall. Easy to read and fast. I agree with the previous user review. I really miss the search function from the older version of the app. I cant find some older articles of a specific car I like anymore. Please bring back the search function.

The app is perfect I love all the guys and articles but the app does not work, articles have not appeared for the last two weeks. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not work either

Such a gretta magazine, such a bad app:( Too heavy, u need a good good luck to finish download... The app doesnt work at all! Hope in an italian, light and working version!

Great magazine and even better application!

With this new version its impossible to keep up if you are late with reading the magazine. Its ok only if you are in time and you wait for new articles to be published. Otherwise its a mess. I have to read the last two magazines and I cannot use the bookmarks so every time I have to search for the last article read. In addition to that every time I want to read an article I have to wait until it is downloaded. So I cannot read Evo without an internet connection, the opposite of before bar for the videos. One good thing of the iPad version was the possibility to read it everywhere. Now its not anymore. Sorry but now it is better to read the paper version.

Beautifull app for beautifull magazine!!

Useless from the last update ... It is crasching after 1min or less of use

App stopped updating for the last 4 weeks (my experience when the app is working is that its updated every 3-9 days with new content). I believe the rationale for EVO to adopt this format of randomly updating this app with content was to be at the forefront of news topics or have the latest test drive reports to be out the door first thing. The intention was good but YOU NEED TO HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO MANAGE YOUR APP. This is frustrating, very frustrating. You have top quality content, written by some of the best people in the industry, yet youre utterly failed by a very unstable app. Ive been a digital subscriber for a long time, and this has happened at least 15-20 times. Makes me wonder if you actually want to piss people off the digital version and make them go back to the print version.

Up until about a month ago the app worked and there would be updates every few weeks. However, Ive yet to see the July issue in the app and August is now out. Evo is a great magazine with great writing and Ive been a subscriber since the early days. I bought the July issue via Zinio and while it doesnt have all the features of the Evo app, if I can consistently get the magazine, its probably the best option.
